IT Applications Analyst

WBS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a IT Applications Analyst in our Pewaukee, Wisconsin location. This position currently offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time regularly spent in the office.

 

This position is part of a job family (Associate IT Applications Analyst, IT Applications Analyst, and Senior IT Applications Analyst) where experience will be the determining factor.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy custom applications and services with a focus on maintainability and performance
  • Build and maintain .NET-based solutions, including C# components and ASP.NET Web APIs aligned with RESTful standards
  • Develop modern front-end experiences using the Angular JavaScript framework
  • Create data-access layers using Entity Framework or other ORM frameworks, ensuring efficient and secure data interaction
  • Apply a strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and patterns to deliver scalable solutions
  • Provide advanced application support, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and issue resolution in development and production environments
  • Partner with business users to investigate incidents, define requirements, and deliver timely fixes and enhancements
  • Improve system reliability by implementing monitoring, logging, and proactive maintenance practices
  • Contribute to release planning, deployment readiness, and post-deployment validation
  • Drive continuous improvement and best practices 
  • Provide guidance on solution design, estimation, technical tradeoffs, and implementation strategy
  • Help define and evolve team standards such as coding conventions, branching strategies, review expectations, and reusable patterns
  • Participate in and guide code reviews to ensure quality, consistency, and knowledge sharing
  • Performs on-call responsibilities as part of an on-call rotation

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, MIS, Data Science, Information Science, Engineering is required. Other bachelor’s degrees will be considered based on related IT experience. Successful completion of a certified Application Development Apprenticeship will also be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with .NET Framework / C# development
  • Experience building ASP.NET Web APIs that follow RESTful principles
  • Hands-on experience with the Angular framework and modern JavaScript/TypeScript development
  • Strong knowledge of Clean Code & Object-Oriented Programming concepts

Pay Range Minimum:  $68,436.68 

Pay Range Maximum:  $135,761.08 

 

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.  At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
