Intern - Financial and Regulatory Planning

WEC Business Services LLC, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Intern - Financial and Regulatory Planning in our Milwaukee, Wisconsin location. This internship is full-time during the Summer of 2027. The hourly rate for this internship is $21.30 with paid company holidays.

Job Responsibilities

 

This position supports the Financial Planning and Analysis and Regulatory Planning and Accounting functions within WEC Energy Group.
 
Financial Planning and Analysis

 

  • Assist in preparation and communication of the Company’s monthly & long-range financial forecasts
  • Assist in preparation & review of key metrics, rate case filings, various one-off requests
  • Maintain & enhance the UI Forecasting model
  • Modify existing reports and calculations as needed to reflect changes in requirements and / or assumptions
  • Communicate forecast results to key stakeholders including senior leadership
  • Work with departments across the company to ensure accuracy of data and validity of information
  • Lead and support process improvement initiatives
  • Position will be expected to apply knowledge of interrelationships in processes and utilize problem solving skills to recommend process improvements.

 

Rate Case Support
 

  • Assist in preparation, communication, and tracking of rate case schedule with cross departmental team
  • Assist Business Unit finance in rate case schedule, testimony and data request preparation
  • Prepare responses to rate case data requests
  • Track and model proposed adjustments from Commission Staff and Rate Case Intervenors

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • High School Diploma, GED, or HSED
  • Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Information Systems, or closely related discipline with a graduation date after June 2027
  • Minimum GPA of 2.8

Pay Range Minimum:  $21.30

Pay Range Maximum:  $24.60

 

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.  At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
