IT Consultant - Vendor and Asset Management

WBS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking an IT Infrastructure Consultant in our Milwaukee, Wisconsin location. This position currently offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time spent in the office.

 

This position is part of a job family (Associate IT Infrastructure Consultant, IT Infrastructure Consultant, and Senior IT Infrastructure Consultant) where experience will be the determining factor.

Job Summary

The IT Infrastructure Consultant works to support the company’s IT vendor and asset management. They act as an IT liaison to the Supply Chain organization for new and existing contracts that include the purchase of technology assets. Aligns with IT and business unit leaders on hardware and software purchases, maintenance renewals, adjustments and terminations. Provides vendor and asset management support for LAN/WAN systems, telecommunications, voice/wire/RF/optical systems, server and desktop hardware, cyber security, system software, storage management, applications, and databases. Also gets involved in IT budgeting, cost analysis, vendor analysis and responding to technology audits.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides vendor and asset management services for agreements, contracts, technology purchases and licensing.
  • Provides support for software and hardware audits, compliance tracking and compliance reporting.
  • Aligns with IT change control to ensure accurate licensing and compliance. 
  • Performs all the duties of an Associate Infrastructure Consultant acting independently.
  • Provides leadership, technical support, training, and expertise to less experienced team members.
  • Manages projects consistent with other responsibilities within this JDQ.
  • Receives guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.  Independently performs most assignments with instructions as to the general results expected.
  • Utilizes working knowledge of systems, equipment, and supporting applications to support the business and enterprise as a whole.
  • Maintains key performance and process metrics to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of processes, procedures, and systems.
  • Effectively uses various forms of communication to successfully perform job duties.
  • Builds productive working relationships internally and externally.  Works with clients to gain familiarity with business processes and how technology acts as an enabler to those processes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant degree
  • Vendor management experience
  • Fundamental understanding of software licensing and contract procurement for hardware and software
  • IT Financial Management knowledge

Pay Range Minimum:  $66,898.00 

Pay Range Maximum:  $132,708.94 

 

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.  At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
