Financial Analyst - Regulatory

Job Responsibilities
This position supports the Regulatory Planning and Accounting function within WEC Energy Group, with an emphasis on the Very Large Customer (VLC) Tariff and Bespoke Asset accounting.
Accounting and Analysis
- Understand allocation of costs to VLC customers
- Calculate income statement costs to be recovered under VLC Tariff
- Analyze actuals vs forecast variances for VLC customers
- Assist in system design and implementation to track Bespoke Assets and calculate VLC Tariff
- Design processes to complete actuals, forecast, and budgeting of VLC Tariff and Bespoke assets
- Work with various groups including Property Accounting, Revenue, Tax, FP&A, and other groups outside Finance
Rate Case Support
- Assist in preparation, communication, and tracking of rate case schedule with cross departmental team
- Assist Business Unit finance in rate case schedule, testimony and data request preparation
- Prepare responses to rate case data requests
- Track and model proposed adjustments from Commission Staff and Rate Case Intervenors
General Job Responsibilities
- Other analysis and/or tasks as assigned.
- Position will be expected to apply knowledge of interrelationships in processes and utilize problem solving skills to recommend process improvements.
This position is part of a job family (Associate Analyst, Analyst, Sr Analyst) where experience will be the determining factor.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Accepted majors: Finance, Accounting or Economics or closely related
- Associate Analyst is an entry level role and internship experience is preferred
- Analyst requires 18 months of relevant experience
- Ability to maintain, run and analyze reports from various ERP systems and reporting tools
- Understand aspects of accounting theory and financial statement classification
- Document advanced processes and procedures in ways easily understood and followed by others
- Strong presence with the ability to interact with Finance Leadership
- Compile and present various financial reports to manager and director level management
- Understand specific aspects of accounting theory and financial statement classification related to assigned areas of responsibility
- Demonstrate ability to understand and execute moderately complex financial controls
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 Year’s Experience in Accounting or Finance
- Ability to learn and grasp new concepts quickly
- Comfortable providing analysis and presenting to various members of Management
- Ability to work well independently and as a member of a multi-locational team
- Attention to detail, a strong initiative, and a results-orientation are critical
- Experience with Microsoft Excel is essential
- UI Planner Experience is a plus
- SAP Experience is a plus

Pay Range Minimum: $59,510.36
Pay Range Maximum: $118,053.26
The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
