Job Summary
The Station Pipeline Controls Technician I is responsible for maintaining engineering control, gas odorization and metering systems for PGL & NSG transmission lines, stations and city gate stations. These systems include the PGL SCADA systems, substations and gas facilities. The type of engineering work includes: R&D, design, and field work associated with new systems and modifications to systems as well as troubleshooting and field engineering support for existing systems.
The Technician I interfaces with engineers and gas controllers from the various PGL/NSG groups and counter-parts from pipeline suppliers and or vendors.
Job Responsibilities
- Supports electronic and communication issues related to natural gas distribution/transmission measurement systems and gas composition and odorization systems.
- Provides support to field operations which includes equipment installation, on site testing, maintenance and repair of telemetry and electronic equipment under direct supervision.
- Assists with any special electronic related measurement, control and pressure regulation projects for PGL & NSG.
- Performs procedures to ensure equipment is functionally tested when put in service.
- Installs and commissions new equipment.
- Upholds safety standards, personally and organizationally; corrects unsafe conditions
This is a job family posting (Station Pipeline Controls Technician I, Station Pipeline Controls Technician II, and Station Pipeline Controls Technician III) experience will be the determining factor.
Minimum Experience Required
Station Pipeline Controls Technician I
- Less than 1 year - electronic and mechanical principles and operations
- Less than 1 year - Technical analysis
- 1+ years - Using a computer with basic PC skills, including the usage and understanding of spreadsheets, word processing and internet browsers.
- High School Diploma, HSED, or GED
Station Pipeline Controls Technician II
- 2+ years required minimal experience:
- Electronic and mechanical principles and operations.
- Technical analysis
- Using a computer with basic PC skills, including the usage and understanding of spreadsheets, word processing and internet browsers.
- Pipeline controls experience
- High School Diploma, HSED, or GED
Station Pipeline Controls Technician III
- 5+ Years of Basic PC skills, understanding of spreadsheets, word processing and internet browsers.
- 5+ Years of Electronic measuring equipment and communication devices.
- 5+ Years of Understanding engineering drawings/drafting standards and practices, formal presentations, vendor interaction.
- 5+ Years of Electronic and mechanical principles and operations.
- 5+ Years of Pipeline controls experience
- High School Diploma, HSED, or GED
End Date: 01/03/2025
Pay Range Minimum: $27.15
Pay Range Maximum: $58.35
The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
