Job Summary
The Senior Physical Security Consultant – Provides leadership, management and oversight for the security of the company’s construction program in the City of Chicago. Responsible for the actual tactical coordination of security needs for each construction project on a weekly/daily basis, to ensure the safety and security of company employees, contractors and assets.

Job Responsibilities
- Manage the construction guard contract. Review guard service provider invoices and ensure payment is processed for completed work in accordance with the contractual agreement. Monitor the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to contractual agreement with guard service provider.
- Perform the security staffing analysis based on risks associated with each construction project to ensure appropriate security staffing utilizing connected intelligence (e.g. knowledge of the Chicago neighborhood/City, familiar with the crime stats in neighbors, relationship with Chicago Police Department).
- Coordinate and schedule pre-construction security escorts for engineering personnel as they survey job sites.
- Attend pre-construction project meetings with construction field operations, contractors, and guard service providers to strategize on forecasted security needs and security support plans for upcoming construction projects.
- Review status and schedule of in-progress, projects at the weekly project schedule meetings to determine if security plans need change.
- Interact/coordinate daily with guard service provider for unplanned changes in project security needs or location changes driven by projects.
- Collect, analyze, and modify security plan changes based on security intelligence, daily interaction and input from guard service provider and field personnel on project sites within the City limits of Chicago.
- Continuously monitor the construction security program’s processes and the use of resources to maximize efficiencies and areas of improvement.
- Provide situational awareness and recommendations to prevent re-occurring incidents.
- Attend safety meetings to provide situational awareness updates and security best practices. Address any concerns or questions that relates to security at job sites.
- Generate internal incident reports for stolen equipment, suspicious persons, emergency response, situations, and other security issues.
- Provide monthly security metrics.
Minimum Qualifications
- Physical Security Consultant - Minimum 2- 4 years of physical security work experience in law enforcement, investigations or intelligence in a civilian or military organization required.
- Senior Physical Security Consultant - Minimum 4 -7 years of physical security work experience in law enforcement, investigations or intelligence in a civilian or military organization required.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Police Science, Security Management or Business Administration is preferred. A combination of associate degree, military, law enforcement or professional physical security experience and physical security certification (CPP, PSP) or certificates (enterprise security risk management, security risk assessment, workplace violence prevention, executive protection, etc) will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project and Contract Management experience (Threat Assessments, CCTV System Installation, etc.)
- Familiarity with the City of Chicago Neighborhoods and Streets, in addition to the Urban areas
- Preferred experience with or understanding of nation state threats to critical infrastructure.
- Bilingual is preferred.

Pay Range Minimum: $68,436.68
Pay Range Maximum: $127,891.14
The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
