Supervisor

WPS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Supervisor. This position will support all the RICE sites across WEC Energy Group and could be located at any of the following locations; Pelkie, MI, Negaunee, MI, Green Bay, WI, Milwaukee, WI or Kronenwetter, WI.  This position will require travel as needed to the RICE facilities throughout the WEC Energy Group service territory.

Job Summary

 

Supervisor for the RICE Generating fleet managing the maintenance, and repair of plant equipment through planning, scheduling, and directing the activities required to ensure safety and reliable operation of the RICE assets. This position will focus on work planning at all RICE sites, and coordinate execution of the work with site Supervisors and Engineers.

Job Responsibilities

 

Manage and Plan Work

  • Coordinate with Site Supervisors and Engineers on work prioritization, work schedules and development of a standard and sustainable work management for the RICE fleet.
  • Develop work packages which includes, but not limited to scoping, planning, creating work plans, specifying parts, developing work control requirements, confirming parts availability and closing out work packages.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures including, but not limited to protective tag procedure, confined spaces, hot work permit, etc.
  • Follow up on work packages to ensure safety, quality, and productivity maintained during execution of work, making adjustments when needed.
  • Manage external contractors to safely and effectively perform work.
  • Process owner for all maintenance info, history, BOM and CMMS (SAP) configuration for the RICE fleet.
  • Support and implement maintenance practices to ensure reliable operation of RICE assets, including equipment history optimization, inventory management and continuous improvement.
  • Apply knowledge of generation asset design parameters and component interrelationships when making decisions regarding maintenance, troubleshooting and operational issues.
  • Support budget management and cost-effective execution of work, including labor, materials, and services. 

 

Maintain Relationships

  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with represented employees, unions, and management staff.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with key vendors and contractors.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with Power Generation support teams.

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • High School Diploma, HSED, or GED
  • 5-10 years’ experience in power plant operations and/or maintenance or similar industry OR 5-10 years’ experience in supervision.
  • Ability to communicate, establish and maintain good working relationships with employees, union representatives and plant management.
  • Valid Drivers License

 

This position may require unescorted access to certain critical cyber assets which would require applicants to satisfy all Company and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard 004 security requirements, which includes a background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Extensive experience with SAP or other Maintenance Management Systems (MMS).
  • Knowledge of planning and scheduling, and previous experience performing and planning maintenance.
  • Good working knowledge of labor agreements and relationships.
  • Knowledge of operating, maintenance procedures and technical aspects of power generation assets and in particular Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engines (RICE), generators, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Knowledge of generation asset hazards and safe work procedures.
  • Working knowledge of basic chemistry, principles of heat transfer, fluid flow, lubrication, metallurgy, electrical theory and distribution, and control systems, including field instrumentation.
  • Understanding of OSHA requirements.
  • Detailed oriented, desire to be successful and willingness to travel as needed to perform Job Responsibilities.

Pay Range Minimum:  $90,507.56 

Pay Range Maximum:  $135,761.08 

 

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.  At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
