Hydro Maintenance Mechanic 2
WPS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Hydro Maintenance Mechanic 2 or higher in our Merrill, Wisconsin location.
Work Hours: 7:00am - 3:00pm - Monday - Friday
Travel Requirements: This position requires daily travel to the Western Hydro sites. Travel is generally inside of regular working hours.

Job Summary
A Hydro Maintenance Mechanic 2 assists in ensuring continuous generation availability and regulatory compliance by operating, inspecting and maintaining hydro turbines, generators, buildings and grounds, dams and auxiliary equipment.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure safe work methods
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment
- Operate hydro-electric facilities safely and efficiently
- Maintain plant systems, equipment, and surrounding area in clean, safe and efficient condition
- Complete necessary documents
- Conduct inspections of turbines, generators, and auxiliary equipment
- Participate in major overhauls of turbines, generators, and auxiliary equipment
- Assist in installing changes to plant equipment
- Maintain hydro turbine and plant buildings and grounds in clean, safe condition
- Perform required maintenance on dams and dikes
- Participate in training programs to advance knowledge and skill level
- Assist and work with vendors and contractors in installation and repair of equipment and systems
- Provide relief for other positions as required and work without assistance in job areas where sufficient knowledge and training are present
This position has a 60 minute residency requirement.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 years industrial mechanical maintenance experience as a mechanic
- Valid Driver's License
- Valid CDL or ability to obtain one within 18 months
- Must be able to obtain forklift and lift truck certification

Minimum Posting Range: $43.34
Maximum Posting Range: $50.59
