Maintenance Technician - Combustion Turbines
WPS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Maintenance Technician - Combustion Turbines in our Marinette, Wisconsin location. This position is represented by Local No. 420 IUOE.
Work Hours: 6:00am - 4:00pm - 4 days a week
Job Summary
The Maintenance Tech-Combustion Turbine position ensures the safe, reliable, compliant and economical generation of electricity by inspecting and maintaining power plant equipment and structures during routine, abnormal or emergency conditions. The primary responsibility for this position is to perform mechanical maintenance on all equipment and auxiliary systems.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure safe work methods by following all company safety rules and work practices
- Follow all safety related processes and procedures including but not limited to; Lockout/tagout, confined space, hot work
- Ensure that mechanical equipment and systems function properly by maintaining generating station equipment and auxiliary equipment
- conduct corrective maintenance
- review work orders and diagnose problems
- coordinate with the PG Manager and/or vendors to ensure the availability and adequacy of parts, equipment and services to perform such maintenance activities
- perform and remain proficient in non-certified welding
- Maintain equipment ensuring that equipment is maintained in accordance with established targets for plant reliability, availability, output, efficiency, safety and regulatory compliance
- Install mechanical design changes to upgrade plant operations or to meet new requirements
- Facilitate the diagnosis and repair of malfunctions
- Complete documentation to comply with specifications
- Participate in training programs to advance knowledge and skill level
- Sponsor, assist, and work with other Company personnel, vendors, and contractors in installation and repair of mechanical equipment and systems
Minimum Qualifications
Education Required
- 1 year Industrial Mechanic Technical Diploma or Welding Technical Diploma
OR - Completion of a state indentured Millwright Apprenticeship
OR - Equivalent military training may also be considered in lieu of formal degree or formal apprenticeship
Experience Required
- Valid Drivers License
- 5 years progressive power plant maintenance experience
OR - 5 years of progressive maintenance experience in an industry that utilizes similar equipment and/or processes to a power generation facility
OR - 5 years of equivalent military experience
Testing Requirements
- Maintenance Selection System (MASS): Other level: Ability to understand basic mechanical principles, visualize proper assembled form of objects, read and comprehend technical material; and skill in working basic mathematical problems

Minimum Posting Range: $42.97
Maximum Posting Range: $53.22
The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
