Gas Engineering Manager
Wisconsin Public Service, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Engineering Manager in the Gas Department at our Green Bay, Wisconsin or Pewaukee, Wisconsin locations. This position offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time spent in the office.

Job Summary
The Engineering Manager will lead the Gas Project Management group responsible for the design, procurement, and construction of the gas regulation systems in Wisconsin (We Energies and Wisconsin Public Service), with occasional support of the facilities in Minnesota and Michigan. The position is also responsible for performing transmission integrity inspections on transmission and high pressure pipelines.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the team of controls engineers and analysts responsible for SCADA systems at gas regulator stations, including RTU programming and troubleshooting, working closely with Gas Control, System Operations Engineering, and Field Operations.
- Support System Operations and Field Operations teams with trouble shooting and maintenance associated with gas regulation facilities and industrial customer regulation.
- Facilitate development of the capital budget plan in support of lifecycle, capacity, and reliability of the gas regulator stations.
- Recommend strategic improvements for the Gas Construction Standards, Operations and Maintenance, Emergency Procedures, and other company manuals related to gas regulation facilities, associated telemetry, and ILI.
- Manage In-line Inspection (ILI) of transmission pipeline facilities in support of the Integrity Management Group including procurement and contract management of ILI contractors, environmental support services, and ancillary support services needed for the projects. Manage direct assessments as a result of both ILI and ECDA and Transmission Integrity Management
- Plan (TIMP) inspections, including permitting, exposing pipe, repairs as directed by Integrity Management Group, and mapping.
- Support transmission integrity management functions associated with a pipelines physical design and functions associated with making them capable of ILI.
- Manage the capital budgets associated with regulation station and valve pits, as well supporting the Integrity Management team with O&M estimating and budget management associated with Integrity Management.
- Provide project management solutions and manage projects for special projects that come up associated with gas distribution, regulation, compression, storage and overall process improvement as needed.
- Lead continuous improvement in Project Management Practices through development of tools, templates, and training to support increased consistency and success in managing projects.
- Work closely with Operations Engineering, System Engineering, Integrity Management, Compliance, and Standards groups to ensure successful operation and maintenance of the entire gas distribution system in a safe and compliant manner.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- 7+ years of relevant engineering experience
- Demontrated experience leading or supervising others
- This position will have emergency response responsibilities during off hours
- Applicants must comply with DOT Part 199 drug and alcohol testing requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in construction and field practices as well as design, operation and maintenance of gas distribution facility controls or related experience in other industries
- Strong written and oral communication skills and analytical skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in project management, planning, budgeting and report writing

Pay Range Minimum: $117,004.94
Pay Range Maximum: $175,507.54
The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
