Job Summary

 

The Operations Supervisor provides critical support to field operations across local operating areas within Wisconsin. This role is responsible for driving standardization, ensuring compliance with operational processes, and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and cost control. Acting as a backup to area supervisors, this position also provides analytical support, risk mitigation, and contributes to leadership development across the team.


The ideal candidate will have strong field knowledge, budgeting expertise, and the ability to collaborate across departments to drive performance and accountability.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Support daily operational activities at the area level and serve as backup to area supervisors as needed.
  • Conduct daily reviews of employee timesheets to ensure proper accounting and labor charging.
  • Perform safety observations and promote a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Identify and lead process improvement initiatives focused on financial efficiency and operational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with operations leadership to implement strategic initiatives that align with financial and business goals.
  • Manage accurate and timely overtime call-outs in accordance with company and union policies.
  • Review Capital and Job Order packets for correct account coding and ensure all required documentation is complete for closeout and reimbursement.
  • Verify the accuracy of internal and external timesheets, material tickets, and employee reimbursements.
  • Work closely with Line and Scheduling departments to monitor as-built metrics and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Assist supervisors in resolving issues within work order packets to meet departmental timeliness and compliance metrics.
  • Lead efforts to clear work orders on hold due to missing or inaccurate information, working collaboratively with supervision.

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • High School Diploma, HSED, GED
  • Five to 10 years experience in a distribution/construction operations trade and/or five to 10 years experience in supervision of direct reports
  • Good working knowledge of union contracts and employee relationship management
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with employees, contractors, and community groups
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • 3+ years of experience in budgeting.
  • 3+ years of experience in the electric and/or gas utility industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in data gathering, analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word, for creating reports and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of operations policies, procedures, and union work rules.

Pay Range Minimum:  $90,507.56 

Pay Range Maximum:  $156,125.32 

 

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.  At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
