Materials Specialist (North)
We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Materials Specialist (North) in our Wausau, WI location.
Job Summary
Conduct all supply activities related to the procurement, handling, coordination, and disbursing of materials, equipment, and services requested by internal and external customers at various locations and job sites. Activities include (but not limited to) quality inspection of received materials, pre-assembly, kitting, records management, dispatching WE vehicles, and return goods for shipment.
Job Responsibilities
The Materials Specialist (North) performs the following duties:
- Working with the business units, contractors and suppliers to define and schedule resources to meet the material and service requirements of the business units.
- Orders materials and services from suppliers/providers using pre-established guidelines.
- Monitors storeroom levels and conducts a physical review of stock balances to verify balances or adjust discrepancies in order to maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Unloads materials, inspects them for damage and enters material/service data into the computer for identification and tracking purposes.
- Contacting suppliers and the sourcing group to resolve shipment and invoicing problems.
- Uses equipment and hand tools to distribute materials to internal and external customers.
- Handling, preparation and delivery of materials to various Company locations and job sites.
- Coordinates the packaging (kitting) and preassembly of materials for delivery.
- Coordinates the job site delivery of materials and equipment as requested by the business units.
- Order & dispose of hazardous materials.
- Miscellaneous duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Applicant must have a valid driver’s license and meet the company’s requirements for driving.
- The selected applicant must obtain an interstate commercial driver’s license (CDL) within 90 days of entry into the job.
- Applicant must comply with DOT commercial driver’s license (CDL) drug and alcohol testing requirements.
- This position may require unescorted access to certain critical cyber assets which would require applicants to satisfy all Company and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard 004 security requirements, which includes a background investigation.
- Candidates may be required to demonstrate their ability to perform the physical functions of the position by completing a Physical Capacity Evaluation.

Minimum Posting Range: $22.81
Maximum Posting Range: $37.91
The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
