Engineer - Data Monitoring and Analytics
We Energies and Wisconsin Public Service, subsidiaries of WEC Energy Group, is seeking an Engineer focused on data monitoring, diagnostics, and analytics for our Renewables Operations and Maintenance Engineering Team. This position can be located in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Milwaukee, Wisconsin or within a reasonable drive to any of our WEC Energy Group renewables locations in WI, IL, IA, SD, NE, and KS.
This position currently offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time spent in the office.
This position is part of a job family (Associate Engineer, Engineer, Senior Engineer, and Principal Engineer) where experience will be the determining factor.

Job Summary
This engineer provides technical support to a large operating fleet of renewable energy projects by designing, deploying, and maintaining critical data architecture and pipelines which support the business and analytics needs of the Power Generation Renewables team.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop architecture & maintain databases of critical equipment metadata.
- Manage data flows and data pipelines that feed real-time predictive models and other data tools.
- Work closely with Renewables team, business & data analysts, and IT support groups to solve data access, architecture, and process needs.
- Use available data to review the performance and reliability of wind / solar / battery storage assets.
- Collaborate with Renewables team to design and deploy analytics and KPI reporting at a fleet level.
- Perform ad hoc investigations of emergent equipment issues.
- Manage the ETL process for transforming operational SCADA data into aggregated data repositories.
- Empower subject matter experts with user friendly access to raw and aggregated data.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Preferred Qualifications
- SQL (T-SQL, MySQL, Athena), VBA, API, and Python/R experience
- Cloud-based data infrastructure experience
- Database architecture & management experience
- Power BI, AWS and related services experience
- DevOps and GitHub experience
- Renewable energy technology, especially wind, solar, and energy storage experience
- Familiarity with data visualization / business intelligence tools
- Strong initiative, collaborative, prioritization, and time management skills
- Critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and solve complex problems

Pay Range Minimum: $66,898.00
Pay Range Maximum: $152,615.06
The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
