Business Analyst - Materials

Job Summary

 

This Business Analyst supports purchasing, maintenance and calibration of gas instrumentation, tools, and equipment. This includes managing relationships with equipment vendors, developing purchase specifications, establishing calibration requirements, and monitoring compliance deadlines. This position has the responsibility to ensure the company is compliant with all applicable rules, regulations, laws, and other operational requirements. The Business Analyst will also support efforts to develop common standards and work practices for WEC Energy Group gas utilities.

 

The Business  Analyst position is part of the Associate Business Analyst, Business Analyst, Sr. Business Analyst job family.

 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Participate on the WI Tool Committee to help evaluate and select new tools and equipment for purchase across gas operations.
  • Assist in the development of purchase specifications, improve standardization of tools and equipment, and recommend testing, calibration, and preventative maintenance expectations.
  • Ensure WI gas instrumentation and other tools/equipment are maintained in compliance with manufacturer recommendations and pipeline safety regulations.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships between the company and equipment vendors.
  • Communicate standards and operational expectations to company personnel and perform compliance oversight monitoring.
  • Participate in state regulatory agency audits, respond to commission inquiries, and support corrective action plans.
  • Evaluate the impact of new pipeline safety regulations and develop procedure change requests.
  • Produce departmental reporting, metrics, budgets, dashboards, and analytics.
  • Contribute to WEC Energy Group gas standardization projects and initiatives using project management methodology.

 

The successful candidate will be required to make themselves available to accept calls and support gas system and field operations after normal business hours.

Minimum Experience Required

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Information Systems or related discipline. 
  • Strong analysis, decision making and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) 
  • Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks under time constraints
  • Experience working with project management methodology preferred
  • Proficient in standard office software (MS Excel, Visio, Word)
  • The Business Analyst requires 2-3 years of relevant experience
  • The Senior Business Analyst requires 4-5 years of relevant experience 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Knowledge of gas regulatory codes, standards, and materials.
  • Knowledge of natural gas construction and field operation practices.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to present information to a broad audience.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, planning, and technical writing.

End Date: 06/24/2025 

 

Pay Range Minimum:  $66,898.00 

Pay Range Maximum:  $132,708.94 

 

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.  At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
