Area Reliability Manager

Wisconsin Electric Power, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Area Reliability Manager in our Franklin, Wisconsin location.

 

This position is part of a job family (Area Reliability Manager and Senior Area Reliability Manager) where experience will be the determining factor.

Job Summary

The Area Reliability Manager (ARM) is responsible for ensuring the high quality of delivery of electricity to We Energies’ Residential, Commercial and Industrial (C/I) customers in a specific geographical Service Area. The ARM is an integral part of a coordinated service team and must demonstrate a proactive customer approach that will clearly differentiate We Energies in its ability to provide superior reliability and service to its customers. The ARM has responsibility for energy service quality perceived and measured to our customers within the geographical Service Area.   High quality energy reliability and service in our traditional products is the foundation upon which the growth of our business relationship with customers is based. In addition, the ARM must be accountable and elevate the needs of our customers to appropriate levels within the organization. The ARM reports to the Area Manager.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the delivery of We Energies’ core commodities to all customers which includes interfacing and coordination with other parts of the organization to meet customer expectations.
  • Deliver a high coordinated customer approach with a focus on continually elevating the level of service and energy quality.
  • Responsible for key operations oriented work, such as annual Top Feeder initiatives, the development of emergency restoration and communication plans for customers which includes:
  • Reviewing the outages in assigned areas and provide data for use on the weekly conference call if required.
  • Expediting oversight and resolutions to outages interruptions.
  • Managing all assigned Area Reliability projects taking aim to meet key milestones, provide updates, collaborate with Operations, Forestry, and Engineering to resolve issues, and assist with monitoring expenditures. Assisting in the creation of talking points/verbiage for Broadcast IVR messaging and customer outreach.
  • Assist in obtaining/reviewing outage information and remediation efforts for customer complaints (PSC, SVP inquiry, etc.)    
  • Addressing Low Voltage complaints.  
  • Proactive Planning for Public Events to include collaborating with other ARMs to develop and implement a standard process for managing and sharing events as directed by EDAM Engineering
  • Establish required patrols and review History Data and Patrol Results to help ensure any necessary work that is needed is completed prior to the event.
  • Review and Assist Power Quality Group in making proper determination to remedy requests from TS’s after initial Investigations
  • Lead by example with commitments to safety including safety shares and by caring for our employee’s health and well-being. Promote safety in commodity distribution/delivery proactive reliability evaluations for all customers.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call support role on a rotating basis.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree 
  • Valid driver’s license and meet the company’s requirements for driving
  • 3 years experience in electrical/mechanical design, engineering standards, project management, system improvement and maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of technical drawings (e.g., facility maps, surveys).
  • Working knowledge of computer applications (ArcGIS, VISIO, STORMS, MicroStation, Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Effective oral and written communication.  
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, team building, interpersonal, leadership and negotiating skills. 
  • Ability to proactively act with a sense of urgency. 
  • Experience in providing service to large utility customers. 
  • Working knowledge of core utility products and delivery to customers. 
  • Ability to successfully implement solutions and manage large and sensitive projects.   

 

This position requires unescorted access to certain critical cyber assets which would require applicants to satisfy all Company and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard 004 security requirements, which includes a background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in electrical, mechanical, civil, architectural, electronic, utilities engineering, or similar technology.

Pay Range Minimum:  $90,507.56 

Pay Range Maximum:  $156,125.32 

 

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.  At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
