Job Summary
The Senior Construction Project Manager will be responsible and accountable for implementing major high profile, and complex field construction and engineering projects that typically exceed $50 million and which carry a greater financial risk to the Corporation.
Areas of responsibility include:
- Project planning, execution, control and close out for the management of engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and turn over to the customer.
- Responsible for management and leadership of a diverse group of team members including union and non-union, consultants and contractors involved in large-scale gas pipeline construction and restoration activities utilizing expert knowledge of gas operations and construction processes to meet project timelines, safety objectives and compliance with state and local regulations.
- Obtains and manages adequate resources to meet all project objectives in the most efficient and effective manner.
- Coach and mentor other Project Managers and support staff.
- Requires ability to influence team members without positional authority.
- Use of in-house specialization and expertise is cost effective and is provided in either a discreet area or multiple areas on a broad skilled knowledge base.
- Fosters and maintains positive relationships with all internal and external project interfaces.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage extremely large high profile, complex field construction projects inclusive of project integration Management including scope, time, cost, quality, HR mgmt., communications, risk and procurement mgmt, complying with legal requirements, construction mgmt and financial accountability. Manage unusually difficult problems, providing highly innovative, varied solutions. Provides oversight in the field ensuring deadlines are being met, resolving roadblocks and monitoring safety and quality guidelines.
- Coordinate procurement effort with team members and other departments for engineering services, material and equipment, and installation contracts.
- Collaborate and communicate with the client and stakeholders on project objectives. Report project schedule, cost & performance status to client, staff, and regulatory agencies as required.
- Coordinate design engineering effort, preparation of specifications and construction documents.
- Coach and mentor other project managers and project support staff on project management skills and activities.
- Implement procedures for effective control of project activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma, HSED, or GED
- 3+ years Federal, State, and Local Codes and Regulatory Requirements
- 3+ years Interfacing with operations in an industrial plant, manufacturing plant or power plant
- 5+ years Formal or informal leadership role
- 7+ years Construction Contracts and Commercial Terms, Status Reporting, Procurement Practices, Industry
- Standards, Utility and Non-Utility Business, Engineering Knowledge, Safety
- 10+ years Project management experience
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience with CFP Part 192
• 7+ years of experience with gas distribution or underground pipeline utility constriction

Pay Range Minimum: $117,004.94
Pay Range Maximum: $190,133.06
The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
