Job Summary
The Gas System Associate Analyst is an entry-level technical trainee responsible for maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of Michigan Gas Utilities’ (MGU) gas asset data. This role serves as a critical link between field operations and the Geographic Information System (GIS). Under the guidance of the Operations Supervisor, the Analyst will learn to identify and resolve data discrepancies, assist with regulatory compliance programs, and provide system support. This is an office-based position that requires periodic travel to field sites for data verification and operational exposure.
Job Responsibilities
- Provides technical support for gas asset management, mapping, and facility documentation through the research and resolution of conflicting information between historical paper records and modern digital systems
- Identifies and corrects discrepancies in digital mapping platforms to support safe excavation and oversees safety-related maintenance programs to ensure consistent regulatory code compliance
- Acts as a critical liaison between office and field personnel, performing periodic site visits to physically verify equipment locations and reconcile facility records against physical assets
- Maintains asset management software through high-accuracy data entry for new construction and infrastructure projects while providing technical support for digital mapping tools used by internal clients
- Ensures that all data integrity actions follow company standards and procedures, comply with appropriate state and federal regulations, and support the company’s operational and safety objectives
Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrates fundamental technical knowledge and analytical skills
- Experience in directly related technical field is beneficial such as gas distribution operations, mapping/GPS applications, and/or gas distribution code compliance
- Relevant experience is based on the specific role of the position, e.g. Maps and Records
- Associate's degree in related technical field is preferred

Pay Range Minimum: $32.90
Pay Range Maximum: $49.35
The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
